My Approach
My approach to therapy is a collaborative approach. In order for therapy to work, both therapist and client need to work together. As a therapist, I will not tell you what to do, however, work with you and find a solution that works best for you. I use a strengths based approach. I believe that all people have the capacity to make positive change in their lives if they are willing to take the time and effort to do so, and if they have a supportive environment in which to grow. believe that each individual has the potential to reach their greatest self. I hope to achieve that with you here.
Some of the therapy modalities I adhere to are cognitive behavioral therapy, attachment therapy, & a client centered approach.
I am working on becoming certified as an Islamic Psychotherapist through the TIIP approach through Khalil Center. I currently implement it in my practice if a client chooses to do so. Faith is a strong part of many of our identities and I believe that Islam and Psychotherapy can be combined in session for a holistic approach to best help clients in all areas of their lives.
